Horse riding camp - logistics and what to pack

Everything worth knowing before arrival. This page applies to all our camps - the dates of a specific session are in that camp’s description.

Arrival and meeting point

Time: 9:30 - on the first day of the camp (please do not bring children earlier - we do not provide care before the camp starts)

Place: Horseback riding grounds, ul. Orle Gniazdo 20, 42-421 Hucisko (how to find us)

Accommodation and meals

  • Rooms at the Orle Gniazdo resort in Hucisko, close to our riding grounds
  • Full board throughout the camp (if your child has special dietary needs, please describe them in the participant card)

What to pack

For horse riding

  • Long trousers (breeches or leggings/joggers without thick inner seams; breeches are not required)
  • Jodhpur boots or closed riding shoes - e.g. trainers or plimsolls (jodhpur boots are not required)
  • Gloves (optional, protect hands when leading and riding a horse)
  • We provide a riding helmet (you may bring your own)

Clothing

  • A change of clothes, suitable for the season
  • Long comfortable trousers, a long-sleeved sweatshirt and a rain jacket (we ride in cool weather too)
  • A cap and sunscreen in summer; a warm hat and gloves in autumn and winter
  • Comfortable shoes for non-riding activities, indoors and outdoors
  • Pyjamas, underwear, socks, shower flip-flops
  • In summer - a swimsuit and towel; if the weather allows and a lifeguard is on duty at the resort pool, we plan to take the children swimming

Personal items

  • Toiletries, toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Water bottle
  • Small backpack for outdoor activities
  • A favourite small cuddly toy - it helps a lot with younger children
  • Phones and smartwatches/bands with GSM/LTE are allowed, but children and teenagers may use them only in their rooms - not during activities, not in the dining room, not during shared breaks. We ask parents to respect this strictly and not to expect contact outside the time their child is in the room. We also take no responsibility for content children view or play on their own devices; if we notice inappropriate content we will react immediately, but we will not monitor in any way how children use their communication devices in their rooms.
  • Tip: label your child’s belongings - similar clothes and water bottles are easily mixed up at camp.

Better left at home

  • Valuables and larger amounts of cash
  • New, expensive clothes - the stable will not spare them (and please remember: no riding-specific clothing is required)

Paperwork and health

  • A completed participant card - online, before the camp.
  • Medication - in its original packaging, with dosage instructions, handed to a counsellor on arrival day.
  • A parent/guardian phone number where you can be reached throughout the camp - you provide it in the participant card.

End of camp and collecting children

  • The camp ends at 16:00 on the day given as the last day of the camp. Please collect children on time - we do not provide care after 16:00 on the final day.
